ONE DAY AT A TIME.
THE WHOLE WEEK IN VIEW.

Weekstack is the original stacked to-do app. I designed it for my own week, then built it for everyone else.

THE POST

January 20, 2025

IT STARTED WITH A POST.

I’d told myself not to waste my time designing another minimal to-do app. I did it anyway, and posted the concept on X.

The post took off, with more than 3,700 likes and 200 replies. That was enough to convince me to make it real.

THE IDEA

HOW I SEE MY WEEK.

I don’t plan my week as one long list. I try to take my tasks one day at a time, but I still want to know what’s coming. So in that original concept, I stacked the days. Today sits open in front of you, and the rest of the week stacked: close enough to glance at, and out of the way until you need it. I loved the way it looked.

FROM CONCEPT TO APP.

Less than a week after the post, version 1 was live on the App Store. Then life got busy, and for a long time Weekstack didn’t get the attention it deserved. In that gap, other apps showed up with the same stacked design.

So if you’ve seen a stacked days to-do app with a grey gradient somewhere else, this is where it started. You've now found the original.

WEEKSTACK TODAY.

Weekstack 3 is rebuilt from the ground up, with a calendar, daily notes, reminders, widgets, themes and more. The idea hasn’t changed: see the whole week, focus on today. Keep it simple.

Today: Weekstack 3

WHAT I BUILD BY.

BUILT FOR A REAL NEED.

I use Weekstack every day to plan my own week.

NOTHING EXTRA.

You choose the features that help you get through your day.

DESIGN FIRST.

The way it looks is the way it works.
